Church Podcasting

22 02 2008

If you work with your church website or audio ministry as I do you are always looking for new ideas and tools that will help you out.

Normally I use my blog to write thoughts that help build up and strenghthen our relationship with God. I will go off course just a little with this post and give you some ideas on witnessing and reaching out to others.

We as the body of Christ are commissioned to preach the Gospel to the whole world, starting with those around us. This commission was given to us by Jesus himself as stated in Acts 1:8

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Jesus didn’t give us exact instructions on what avenues or tools we should use to witness but yet said we must witness. With the advancements in technology and people flocking to the Internet daily the church finds itself using the Internet as one of our many tools and avenues for reaching the lost.

Every day millions of people are on-line searching and seeking for something better in life. A new job, new clothes, new friends, etc. and the list goes on. So in the middle of all this searching what if the church was able to place a piece of bait and catch some souls for Jesus. He did say he would make us “fishers of men”.

With the Internet and Pod-casting the church can place pieces of bait all over the world that could lead others to Christ. Let us be a “fisher of men” using the Internet and Podcasting to reach the lost.

Here are some resources I found and thought I would pass along to everyone.
