What a Way to Start Your Day

17 09 2006

Jesus, after performing some of his very first miracles continued working in the evening time healing people. Then we see a glimpse of how the annointed Son of The Living God started his next morning. No doubt he received new strength and inspiration each day by allowing time each morning to pray and spend time all alone.

What a way to start out your day by filling up on the Spirit of God instead of a hot cup of coffee. It is interesting to note that Mark said it was a great while before day when he went to pray. Who knows what time exactly but 3 am or 4 am to me is a great while before daybreak. He was up late in the evening working and up early to pray.

We usually hear stories about millionaires who worked non stop in the early years of their career to make a fortune. Recently I read of Bill Gates and how he would actually sleep at the office a few hours and then get right back to work after a quick nap. Reading this story really makes me think hard about my walk with God. My prayer life is but a grain of sand compared to that of my Lord.

I see people in our world who will give there all to win an earthly prize, yet few will give there all to obtain a heavenly prize. Jesus truly is  our role model and example to look to.

Mark 1:35-38
35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. 36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. 37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. 38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
